Invitation design by Ginger Jarvis.

I was involved in a show during the entire month of October 2011 @ George Brown College Grounds, Gallery F.

The show featured my digital illustration and retouching work with photography by Laura May.

"Acquainted", a collection of work by Laura May &#38; Ginger Jarvis examines the extraordinary and unique shapes created by the human form in a unusually beautiful, natural way that is non-sexual. By combining photography with digital illustration, coloured lines wrap the contours to exaggerate and compliment the natural contours of the human body.

Below are a selection of images from the show:

<description>Technicolor: Influencing the Color Choices of an Era   By: Ginger Jarvis
This magazine was created as a thesis project for the fulfillment of Ryerson University’s Master of Arts in Media Production in Toronto.

ABSTRACT
Technicolor: Influencing the Color Choices of an Era is a study that explores how Technicolor’s three-strip color film technology during the post-World War II years had a lasting affect on the color choices made by manufacturers of consumer products during the early 1950s. An examination of mid-twentieth century economic and social positioning lays the groundwork for Technicolor’s influence. Natalie Kalmus, color director on hundreds of Technicolor films, was a powerful authority over color use and a major figure in color film aesthetics. A detailed analysis of popular Technicolor films breaks down color usage in Technicolor films, and shows how those colors appeared in a variety of consumer products. Color trends continue to be affected by environmental, economic, and technological inspirations. A look into color forecasting today reveals the ways in which the strategic use of color trends can empower modern media works.
